Stinzenflowers flowering again

In my garden and on the estates in ‘s-Graveland, Netherlands the special bulbflowers are flowering again 🙂 Grape hyacinth, Hellebore, anemone blanda, chionodoxa, petasites, scilla, daffodil….

Dordrecht

Dordrecht is the oldest town of Holland. Not the oldest of the Netherlands because Holland origanally means the western part of the Netherlands (North-Holland and South-Holland) Dordrecht is situated south of Rotterdam in South-Holland. W’ve been there friday with a group of friends. Also been to the Biesbosch, which is a well-know nature reserve, with common jewelweed (impatiens capense) which is not so commom.. but rather rare here, old ships in the harbour and the town.

special job

Wednesday and thursday an inventarisation job for Econsultancy. Hired to educate a couple of fieldworkers in recognation plants and vegetation types. Project leader is my son 🙂 Not so good weather, cloudy and on thursday almost whole day raining. But very special places in the west of Brabant. several types of orchids, sedges, grasses and so on. Here a couple of dactylorhiza species and a Himantoglossum hircinum, one of the most scarce species in the Netherlands.

Sunset and flowers

Wednesday a beautiful sunset in De Wieden, a lake and swamp area, famous for its nature and Natura 2000 protected. Iris foetidissima in my garden is after years in flower for the very first time. Grown from seed… and sometimes I’m experimenting imaging flowers and seeds…

Kaapse Bossen, Jagtlust en tulp

Yesterday been to the “Kaapse bossen” near Doorn, Utrecht. Remarkable tower (the Kaap), remarkable sight. And a colony of southern wood ant or horse ant (formica rufa) with tracks of the Green Woodpecker (Picus viridis), shown as holes and a shit on top of the colony.
Today the first public day for the estate Jagtlust in ‘s-Graveland (see older posts in this blog) and of course a tulip.

Gisteren in de Kaapse Bossen bij Doorn geweest. De uitkijktoren (de Kaap) is toch wel een opmerkelijk geval en met een opmerkelijk uitzicht. Daar vond ik ook een rode bosmiernest met sporen van de groene specht. Pikgaten (met zonnende mieren) en een spechtendrol, (kenmerkende vorm van een wandelstok)
Vandaag de eerste openstelling voor het publiek van landgoed Jagtlust in ‘s-Graveland. Daar kom je dan wel eens een bekende tegen 🙂 en natuurlijk ook weer eens een opmerkelijke tulp gefotografeerd.

Friesland stinzengardens again

Today very good weather for working for the Stinzengarden book. Several new estates (Stinzen) en new fowers on different spots. Blue anemone: Anemone appenina, blue wood anemone: Anemone nemerosa cv robinsoniana (?) and more.

Vandaag weer een rondje Friesland gedaan om nog resterend beeld voor stinzenboek te maken. Blauwe anemoon, blauwe bosanemoon, een stengelloze primula op Epemastate, kivietsbloem, holwortel…

wood anemone and others

Today prfect weather, but cold. Some wood anemones (anemone nemerosa) purple deadnettle (lamium purpureum) Peach at the fruit-wall, daffodils, crocus (planted by visitors.. not really wild) shadbush (amelanchier lamarkii) and a bench on Schaep en Burgh, ‘s-Graveland, Netherlands. The headquarter of Natuurmonumenten.

Vandaag koud maar perfect fotoweer en ik heb op Schaep en Burgh in ‘s-Graveland bij het centraal kantoor van Natuurmonumenten wat beeld gemaakt met een supergroothoek van narcissen, drents krentenboompje, een pol crocussen die vorig jaar in een potje zaten en nu door bezoekers in het bos geplant zijn.. bosanemonen, paarse dovenetel, perzik op de fruitmuur en een bankje bij de lindenkom.
